A Little Bit About Me
Hello and welcome! I am delighted that you have discovered my artistic creations and my tiny pocket of art in this bustling world. My art journey has been a process through smooth and rocky seas. It's truly an adventure which I am finding, with each passing month and year, new sources of inspiration to draw from and observe more intently.
As a small business located in Surrey, UK, I offer a variety of unique, handmade products. In 2019, I graduated with a degree in Set Design for Screen at Wimbledon College of Arts which combined two of my favourite subjects, art and film. Storytelling is an important aspect in my work and I often find inspiration from some of my favourite books, poems, films and even songs with themes of nature, folklore, fairy tales and myths. This in turn influences my own imaginary, dreamlike and whimsical worlds in my art that are colourful and thought provoking.
From the very beginning...
...I have strived to create wearable art and cute patterns. I love all things arty and whimsical with a desire for a bigger range of patterns and designs than the ones I could ever find on the high street.
Forever ago, I picked up a paintbrush and started to paint and I never wanted to put it down. Painting helped me to completely immerse myself in the joy of creativity and allowed me to dive deep into my creative spirit. A passion I abandoned after losing a beloved family member in my early twenties. Grief isn't something you can teach anyone, leaving me and my family heartbroken and haunted by nightmares. The things I once cherished no longer brought me joy until I tried again one whole year later. Holding a paintbrush in my hands was like learning to walk anew. My old unfinished paintings were still left neglected, and I couldn't bare to touch them as the joy I used to feel still felt unreachable; they deserved to be finished with the same joy I started them with. Instead, I poured my emotions into new pieces, expressing the pain through a year of grief. This collection, named the 'Visitation' series, will always be dear to me, despite the heartache involved in creating it, for it marked my return to painting.
Today, I'm currently creating collections of designs using traditional and digital mediums including watercolours, inks and oils which are then printed onto a range of artisan products including luxury silk scarves to make into wearable art!
When I design...
...I always try to convey a story or message through symbolic imagery, often rooted in a narrative filled with endless possibilities found in mother nature and her wildlife. In this fast-paced technological age, we can easily overlook our deep connections to nature and the relationships we share with all of Earth's inhabitants, which can feel isolating. Yet, it is this very natural world that anchors us. Through my art and poetry, I aspire to rekindle both old and new connections with nature and the essence of our being. It has forever become fundamental and exciting to me to craft artwork that resonates on a deep and personal level with others. I love making art that can be cherished for years to come.
SUSTAINABLE
Each product has been produced with environmentally sensitive production methods in small quantities and are only made to order. The scarves are printed with sustainable water based inks, with an OEKO-Tex Standard 100 certification. All scarves have been proudly made in England to reduce transportation emissions.
ARTISAN
My scarves took shape from the desire to create wearable art and to capture the essence of folklore and fairy tales. My collection has been intricately illustrated by hand and printed onto natural fibres such as 100% Silk for a luxurious feel.
UNIQUE
Trends do not inspire me! I love spotting unique finds and special gifts for loved ones that I can't always find on the high street. So I was inspired to create my own artworks that are handcrafted with the highest attention to detail to make sure that every element is unique and special.
Long walks along British nature trails inspire my whimsical storytelling and colourful patterns to capture fantastical scenes within my art.
